Just now a Xperia Z smartphone had been released, which is completely water resistant and also Xperia Z is one of the best-selling high-end Android smartphones these days and Sony has not had this measure of success in a long time.
Now rumors have been started that sony going to launch a new smartphone which comes under Xperia Z series and it is named as Xperia ZR and the configurations are rumored as follow.
- 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.
- 2GH of RAM, 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
- 13-megpaixel rear photo snapper.
- Exmor RS camera sensor.
- LED flash.
- Autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording.
- 4.6″ display.
Software-wise, no details have been leaked yet, but we can expect the Xperia ZR to ship with Jelly Bean onboard.
Hopefully, it will be Android 4.2.2 instead of an older version, but we will know more once the official announcement goes live.
Just like the Xperia Z, the unannounced Sony Xperia ZR is IP55/IP58 certified, which means it’s water resistant and dust proof.
If the information proves to be accurate after Sony announces the phone, the Xperia ZR will have a higher water resistance level than the Xperia Z, which is IP55/IP57 certified.
Other leaked info on the Xperia ZR mentions that the smartphone will be powered by a 2300 mAh battery and is likely to be around 10mm thin and weigh 140g (battery included). Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
